Birth Circles- Held the 4th Wednesday of June, August, October & December 7:00-9:00 p.m.
You are invited to Birth Matters Tidewater's Birth Circle Evening. This is a casual gathering for good conversations about our birth experiences, and our birthing culture. It is a time and place to support each other's struggles, triumphs and decisions, with nothing but positive energy. Everyone from all disciplines is invited to attend: mother's to be, experienced mothers, doula's, health practitioners, childbirth educators... We will come together as sisters to talk, laugh, share food, and support the power of birth!
We look to the philosophical salons of days gone by where ideas were discussed and topics were debated in the interest of change. We hope you join us and share your experience and your journey into motherhood. Bring a snack to share. Due to the overwhelming response, we are requiring RSVP's to the Birth Circle so that we may better serve the women of Tidewater. If you are interested in attending, please email Jennifer Green at jennqgreen@verizon.net to be added to the Evite list.
All Birth Circles are held at Tidewater Lactation Group , 6387 Center Drive, Suite 100, Norfolk, VA, 23502

New VBAC Guidelines Issued by ACOG
Via Childbirth Connection:
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) issued new guidelines that might increase access to vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), but they persist in recommending that women who desire VBAC should go to facilities that provide immediate access to emergency cesarean, even tho...ugh this is based on the lowest, Level C evidence. So, the guidelines are unlikely to increase access to VBAC in the many hospitals without 24/7 surgical teams. Check out our tables comparing the new and previous ACOG VBAC guidelines.
To see the full article and comparison of guidelines visit Childbirth Connection .
